Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun says he has paused on prophesying on politics
The Head Pastor of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, has announced a temporary withdrawal from making public prophetic declarations, particularly on national and political matters, following the failure of his prophecy on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
The prophet had earlier predicted, through a book, videos, and media interviews, that former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, would win the NPP flagbearership race, a prophecy that did not materialise.
Prophet ElBernard apologises after failed election prophecy
In an accountability statement released after a public apology on January 31, 2026, Prophet ElBernard said he had taken the decision “in humility and accountability” after reflecting on the prophetic declarations he made about the NPP primaries.
“𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞, 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬,” he shared on Facebook.
According to him, the step is not a retreat from his calling but a conscious effort to strengthen accountability, integrity, and discernment in his ministry.
He said the pause would allow him time for prayer, counsel, and deep reflection.
“In the same spirit of responsibility, 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫y. This is a deliberate and voluntary step to allow for reflection, prayer, counsel, and the strengthening of accountability in how prophetic revelations are received, interpreted, and communicated.
“𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭,” he added.
He further stated that; “I value the trust of the people I serve, and I do not take it lightly. I sincerely appreciate your prayers, patience, and understanding during this season.”
The January 31 NPP primaries saw former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerge as the winner in a landslide victory over his four contenders, securing support across all regions.
