Ghanaian musician King Paluta has opened up about his humble beginnings in the music industry, revealing that his YouTube videos once garnered only 5 to 10 views in a year.
In an interview on United Showbiz on UTV, King Paluta shared his struggles and how he overcame them to become one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians.
“I used to get about five to ten views on my YouTube videos in one year,” King Paluta said. “But I was just living my life; I love what I do, and I love music, so finding myself around music – whether in the studio or listening to music – was okay for me.”
Despite the slow start, King Paluta’s perseverance paid off, and his hit track “ASEDA” earned him four nominations at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) and the title of Best New Artiste in 2024.
In a recent interview with Delay, King Paluta revealed that his music journey began in 2007, inspired by Asem’s hit song “Gimme Blow”.
When asked if he had spent 15 years as an underground artiste, he confirmed, saying “It could be [15 years]”.
He shared that his passion for music led him to sleep in recording studios at just 14 years old, demonstrating his dedication to chasing his dreams in the music industry.
