Cynthia Amoako, popularly known as Obaa Cee the TikToker has said that she felt ashamed of herself after she gave birth out of wedlock. According to her, in her era, giving birth without marriage was a disgrace.
She explained that when she gave birth, her ex-husband who was her boyfriend then, abandoned her at the hospital with the new born baby.
“He didnt take care of me when I was pregnant and when I gave birth, I was even stuck at the hospital because no one had settled my bills. My mum visited my elder sister and asked for money to get me out of the hospital and my mum took care of the baby.”
She added, “I was ashamed because I was the only one who had given birth and not married in my area. The man will come and drop some cash and leave. My mum and sister decided I won’t be disgraced so they took care of me financially.”
According to her, her family expected him to do her marriage rites during the naming ceremony but he failed to do so.
“He came to name the child and we all thought that he will even do the marriage rites but he didn’t, afterwards he didn’t give us any cash.”
