Kumawood star Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has emphatically stated that he is not interested in campaigning for any political party. During an interview on Opemsuo Radio monitored by News & Vibes, the actor and comedian clarified his stance on politics, explaining his decision to remain neutral despite his significant influence.
“Every political party would be happy to have me campaigning for them, but I have decided to stay neutral,” Lil Win said. “Politics is not something I am interested in. I can’t do any campaign because I am a country asset. I love NPP, NDC, New Force—I love all the political parties. I can’t stand behind one. Any mother who stands behind one of her children brings dispute. As an actor, even if I am needy, I won’t do politics for NPP, NDC, or CPP because I am in the middle so that everyone is satisfied.”
Lil Win further elaborated that the titles of his movies, such as ‘Mr President’ and ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ might give the impression that he is politically inclined. However, his true intention is to promote Ghana and encourage investment in the country.
“My movies are not about politics. We all have to help develop the country so that we get a good name for it, so people will hear about Ghana and come to invest and set up businesses here. I always say this: if Ghana is not sweet for you and you move abroad, when you die, your corpse will come to Ghana. Why is it that after getting the money, you didn’t build the house in America? It shows this is home.”
Lil Win’s commitment to promoting Ghana through his work highlights his dedication to the nation’s development and his desire to see it flourish on the global stage.
His movie, ‘A Country Called Ghana’ is set to premiere in Kumasi on May 25. 2024.
