Ibrahim Mahama Announces Destruction of Monumental Train by Fire

Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama says fire has ravaged one of his trains, reducing it to ashes.

The fire started from sparks generated while the monument was undergoing repair works on February 19, 2026.

The devastated artist was thankful that no injury was recorded as he described the incident as a tragic misfortune while chronicling the hurdles he confronted assembling the craft.

“Certainly, I am sure if a lot more care had been taken, this could have been prevented. This was one of the most difficult objects to collect almost two years ago, and the last in line for body repairs due to the rust it had accumulated over the years. Our hearts may be broken, but our spirits are as high as ever.”

Expressing utmost appreciation to the Ghana National Fire Service and all members of the locality, he urged caution in this dry season.
