ICAG appoints Eric Oduro Osae as CEO

The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) has announced the appointment of Eric Oduro Osae, as its new Chief Executive Officer.

His tenure officially commenced on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Oduro Osae brings to the role an exceptional 25-year career as a Chartered Accountant, Lawyer, and Governance Expert. His distinguished background spans public financial management, auditing, corporate governance, and institutional reform. A Fellow of ICAG and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, he has served with distinction in both national and international capacities.

Prior to this appointment, he served as the Director-General of Ghana’s Internal Audit Agency (IAA), where he oversaw the strengthening of public financial controls. His international profile includes serving as an Audit and Assurance Advisor to the United Nations as a member of the Independent Audit Advisory Committee (IAAC) of the UN General Assembly.

In 2024, his expertise was further recognized with an appointment by the United Nations as a Governmental Expert on Anti-Corruption under the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).

Academically, Oduro Osae holds a Doctorate in Political Economy and a Master of Laws (LL.M.), among other qualifications. He is a prolific contributor to professional discourse, having authored and presented over ninety papers on accounting, auditing, governance, and public finance.

He is also no stranger to the Institute, having previously served as an Examiner and Moderator in Public Sector Accounting and Finance, directly shaping the education of future accountants.

In its announcement, the ICAG Council called on all stakeholders—including members, staff, students, regulators, and the media—to extend their full cooperation and support to the new CEO. The Institute expressed confidence that under his leadership, ICAG will be further positioned as a leading Professional Accountancy Organisation in Ghana and across the region.

The Institute stated it looks forward to a “productive and transformative tenure” under the stewardship of Eric Oduro Osae.
