In a resolute display of commitment to the success of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has pledged unparalleled support, declaring that he is prepared to surpass any financial backing provided by other clubs.
In a stirring declaration of his unwavering support, Otumfuo challenged the team, asking, “Is there any club that gives more than you are given? If there is, I will add more.”
During a recent meeting with the team, Otumfuo disclosed his extraordinary dedication to the club’s welfare, revealing that he personally invests over half a million cedis each month to sustain and uplift the team.
This significant financial commitment, which exceeds that of any other football club in the country, encompasses player salaries, welfare packages, winning bonuses, and operational expenses.
Since assuming direct oversight of the club’s affairs last year, following the dissolution of the Board of Directors, Otumfuo has spared no effort in bolstering Kotoko’s fortunes.
Despite inheriting substantial debts totaling ₵3,533,424, he swiftly settled all outstanding financial obligations, ensuring a fresh start for the team.
