Assistant coach of the Sudanese national football team, Ignatius Osei-Fosu has disclosed that he was never formally contacted about the Asante Kotoko coaching job, despite speculation.

Osei-Fosu, who currently works under Sudan coach, Kwesi Appiah, who doubles as Asante Kotoko Head of Sporting Affairs, said while he appreciates being considered for top roles, timing has always been a key factor in the decisions he makes throughout his coaching career.

“In the first place, if your name comes up, it means that you have done a fantastic job. But nobody actually contacted me,” Osei-Fosu told Luv FM.

The former Dreams FC and King Faisal F.C. coach explained that he is deliberate when choosing opportunities, stressing that the right timing is crucial when accepting new jobs.

“Timing of the job is always of the essence to me.

“When I’m picking jobs, it’s always the right time. I don’t jump into it. From the start of my career, my people and I have always talked about timing, so there have been different jobs at different times,” he explained.

“In fact, when I came to Ghana earlier this season, there was a Ghana Premier League club that contacted me. But I told them the time was not right,” he added.
