The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has begun a tour of police recruitment centres in the Greater Accra Region to assess the ongoing recruitment process firsthand.
The IGP was accompanied by members of the Police Management Board as part of efforts to monitor operations and ensure transparency and efficiency throughout the exercise.
At one of the centres, IGP Yohuno and the management team were received by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.
The two exchanged pleasantries and held brief discussions on the progress of the recruitment process.
An officer at the centre informed the IGP that the exercise had been smooth and orderly since the start of the day, with applicants cooperating fully with officials.
This comes after the Ghana Police Service on Monday, January 12, commenced documentation and body inspection for applicants in the Greater Accra Region, with reports indicating that activities at the designated centres are proceeding efficiently.
The recruitment exercise is being conducted across 12 centres in Accra, with six centres operational on the first day.
Authorities say measures have been put in place to ensure safety, crowd control and efficiency, particularly in light of previous overcrowding incidents witnessed during past military recruitment exercises.
