IGP Orders Covert Deployment of Officers Across Key Areas in Ashanti

The Ghana Police Service has mobilized hundreds of officers to the Ashanti Region for a major, classified operation aimed at strengthening public safety and ensuring law and order.

The deployment is part of broader efforts to reinforce security across critical areas in the region, with the operation being conducted in close coordination with the Ghana Armed Forces to maximize effectiveness.

Speaking on behalf of Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohonu, Director-General, Technical, COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba, instructed officers to maintain professionalism, discipline, and teamwork while carrying out the mission. He emphasized the importance of operational integrity and strict adherence to coordination protocols.

Dr. Gariba also highlighted the confidentiality of the mission, warning personnel against sharing any details from the field. Officers were specifically instructed not to take videos, photos, or send messages about the operation, and to avoid phone calls that could disclose locations or other sensitive information.

The initiative reflects the Ghana Police Service’s ongoing commitment to proactive security measures and its focus on maintaining peace and stability in the Ashanti Region.
