Actress and television presenter Emelia Brobbey has stated that divorce is a normal part of life and should not be treated as a taboo, stressing that it is not exclusive to celebrities in the entertainment industry.
Speaking in an interview on January 5, 2026, Emelia Brobbey urged the public to stop stigmatising divorce, noting that marriage does not always work out and couples may decide to part ways when things are no longer progressing well.
“There’s nothing wrong with divorce. I’m a divorcee myself, so I see it as normal. It’s not only actors and actresses who marry and divorce. Anyone can get married and later decide to separate if the marriage is not working,” she said.
According to her, many divorces happen through mutual agreement between partners and should not automatically be viewed in a negative light.
“In most cases, it’s a matter of mutual understanding for a divorce to happen,” she explained.
Commenting on actress Nana Ama McBrown’s divorce, Emelia Brobbey said there was nothing extraordinary about it, describing it as a typical life experience.
“Nana Ama McBrown’s situation is normal. It’s not a big deal,” she stated.
Emelia Brobbey further revealed that she is open to remarrying if she meets the right partner and the relationship is built on understanding and compatibility.
“I can consider marriage again if I meet someone who understands me and if we’re compatible. Marriage is beautiful for women, so I will gladly embrace it again if the opportunity comes,” she said.
She also acknowledged that fame can have mixed effects on marriage, noting that celebrity life can either strengthen or weaken a relationship.
“Being a celebrity can either destroy your marriage or make it stronger—it’s 50/50,” she added.
