Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo is speaking out after learning that an impersonator used his identity to defraud a woman of N33 million. The victim, Victoria Yemisi Ayano, filed a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing one Bolanle Azeez of posing as the actor online and convincing her to send money under false pretenses.

Ninalowo, visibly stunned by the amount involved, expressed disbelief that anyone could be manipulated to that extent. He noted that even his most successful film roles have never paid him that much, raising questions about how the impersonator managed to gain such trust.

This isn’t the first time Ninalowo has dealt with impersonation. Earlier this year, he lamented the flood of fake TikTok accounts using his name and image, despite not being active on the platform. The actor has long warned fans to be cautious and verify identities before engaging with anyone online claiming to be him.

The incident adds to a growing list of Nigerian celebrities targeted by impersonators. Actress Bimpe Akintunde, Ashabi (Portable’s baby mama), Alesh Sanni, Peter Okoye, and Obi Cubana have all faced similar scams, with fraudsters using their names and photos to deceive unsuspecting fans.

As internet fraud continues to rise, public figures are urging their followers to stay alert and avoid sending money to anyone online without proper verification. For Ninalowo, the incident is not just a personal violation — it’s a reminder of how vulnerable fans can be in the digital age.
