Renowned Ghanaian songstress Mzbel has expressed her disapproval of traveling abroad for childbirth solely to secure a foreign passport. Despite the potential benefits, she believes it’s embarrassing and shameful to seek citizenship for her children through birth in another country.
In an interview on Wontumi TV monitored by News & Vibes, Mzbel confessed that she feels shy about the idea, which has become a trend among celebrities seeking better opportunities for their children. She emphasized that choosing to give birth abroad would imply that she’s encouraging her children to seek success elsewhere, rather than in Ghana.
Mzbel proudly affirmed her Ghanaian heritage, stating, “Having Ghanaian blood, why would I give birth abroad just for some opportunities?”
She hopes to instill a sense of national pride in her children, encouraging them to strive for success in Ghana rather than relying on foreign citizenship.
