Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, is headed back to court despite already serving a 15-year sentence for fraud. This time, she faces a separate charge involving the non-consensual broadcast of explicit images.
The embattled founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry is scheduled to appear before an Accra High Court on July 30, 2025. She stands accused of broadcasting nude photos of Prophet Emmanuel Appiah, popularly known as Osofo Biblical, on her Thunder TV station in 2021.
The presiding judge, Justice Mary Ekue Yanzuh, rejected an attempt by Agradaa’s legal team to halt proceedings through a “submission of no case.” The court ruled that Agradaa must personally appear and open her defence, indicating the matter had enough merit to proceed.
During a recent hearing, Agradaa’s lawyer, Richard Baffour, requested an adjournment due to her absence. However, the court denied the request and instructed the Ghana Prisons Service to ensure she is present at the next hearing. The judge also directed that she file any witness statements in preparation for a case management conference.
The charges against Agradaa include possession of obscene material and the unlawful distribution of intimate images. Though she has pleaded not guilty, her alleged actions sparked legal action from Prophet Appiah, who claimed the exposure of the video violated his right to privacy and human dignity.
This new case unfolds while Agradaa is already behind bars, serving a 15-year term handed down by the Circuit Court on July 3, 2025, for operating charlatanic advertisements and multiple counts of defrauding by false pretences.
Meanwhile, her legal team has filed an appeal at the Amasaman High Court, arguing that the original conviction was flawed in law and the punishment excessively harsh.
