Jewellery Manufacturers, Fabricators and Gold Refineries Ordered to Get GoldBod Licence

The Ghana Gold Board has directed manufacturers, fabricators and gold refineries to get GoldBod jewellery & fabrication licence for their operations.

It observes that many of these operators are without a valid licence from the GoldBod which constitutes an offence and punishable under Act 1140.

The GoldBod in a statement reminded traders that only duly licensed persons are authorised to engage in gold trading, jewellery manufacturing, gold fabrication and gold refining businesses in Ghana.

“On October 22, 2025, the GoldBod issued a press statement which indicated that all existing jewellery manufacturers, fabricators and gold refineries were required to regularize their operations latest by 31st December 2025.”

It has since resolved to deploy a team of GoldBod Inspectors to enforce the law effective Monday, February 2, 2026.

So far, it said 11 companies had licensed their operations. These include:

6. Agyaba Jewellery
7. Gold Casting
8. Goldlovers Gh Limited

10. Mahalaxmi Ghana Limited
11. Sahara Jewellery Limited Company
