The Chief of Amoaku, Nana Kwasi Sonfo, is calling for urgent support to rescue the Amoaku M/A Junior High School, which he says has reached a point where meaningful learning can no longer take place. During a recent visit to the school, he appealed to the Municipal Assembly, philanthropists, and Samartex Company to help construct a new classroom block, stressing that the current structure is preventing students from receiving quality education.
A teacher at the school, Madam Victoria Nkrumah, described how lessons are regularly disrupted anytime the weather changes. Heavy rain forces teachers to dismiss pupils for their safety, as the condition of the building makes it impossible to continue classes during storms.
Some students shared concerns about the daily struggles they face. They explained that the school lacks enough desks and chairs, forcing many of them to learn in discomfort. Others admitted they often worry about their safety on the premises due to the weakened state of the building.
The community hopes that authorities and benevolent organizations will step in quickly to provide a safer and more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
