The Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region has successfully elected Theophilus Yeboah, the assemblymember for the Daman Electoral Area, as its Presiding Member.
He stood unopposed and secured 20 out of 27 votes from the assembly members, which include 19 elected representatives and eight government appointees.
Acceptance
In his acceptance speech, Mr Yeboah was grateful to the members for the trust reposed in him and promised to remain impartial and to adhere to the established rules.
He further pledged to strive diligently with the support of all the members for the progress of the municipality.
Earlier, the Chief of Executive of the municipality, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansuh entreated the members to work together to elect a PM to enable the assembly to have its full complement of its membership to work effectively.
He was sworn in office by the Juaben Circuit Court Judge, Harriet Addo who administered the oath office to him.
