A legal dispute over the marital status of the late highlife star Charles Kojo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, reached a decisive conclusion when the Kumasi High Court determined that both Akosua Serwaa Fosuh and Priscila Ofori—popularly called Odo Broni—must be acknowledged as his wives.
Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur delivered the ruling on November 28, 2025, bringing an end to tensions between the two women. The court directed them to set aside their disagreements and work together to honour the musician with a dignified funeral. This decision places both women in the position of performing the traditional roles expected of widows.
The case began when Akosua Serwaa, who resides in Germany, sought sole legal recognition as the musician’s spouse. During the proceedings, however, the court was presented with information indicating that Odo Broni had gone through customary marriage rites with Daddy Lumba and shares six children with him.
Arrangements for the musician’s final rites are already underway, with the funeral scheduled for December 13.
