Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has announced the rollout of an expanded e-Justice system aimed at making the courts more efficient and business-friendly.
Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum on Saturday, April 4, 2026, he explained that the new system will introduce electronic filing, digital service of court documents, virtual hearings, and real-time case tracking.
According to him, the initiative will reduce the need for physical visits to court, cut down on costs for businesses, and improve transparency in the justice delivery process.
The Chief Justice noted that delays in justice and uncertainty in enforcement discourage investment and affect economic growth. He said the judiciary is therefore working to speed up case handling, especially in commercial matters.
He also mentioned ongoing reforms, including the introduction of a two-stream court system and the establishment of specialized courts to handle commercial disputes, financial cases, and cybercrime.
Additionally, he said the judiciary is reviewing court rules after more than 20 years to simplify procedures and make litigation more predictable.
Mr. Baffoe-Bonnie emphasized that while the judiciary plays a key role in creating a stable legal environment, building a business-friendly economy is a shared responsibility between government, the private sector, and other institutions.
He assured stakeholders that the judiciary remains committed to delivering justice that is fair, efficient, and timely to support economic growth.
