Tensions flared at the Adabraka District Court as Samuel Amoah, popularly known as Biggie, made his first appearance over the gruesome killing of a woman and her two children in Kasoa.

The case, however, did not proceed as scheduled on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, because the court did not sit. It was adjourned to Thursday, September 25. Outside the courtroom, security officers had difficulty escorting Amoah to a police vehicle as relatives of the victims vented their anger, shouting insults at the accused.

The victims’ family rejected reports suggesting that Amoah had been romantically involved with the deceased, 39-year-old Alberta Hagan. According to them, Alberta was a married woman, and Amoah merely performed errands for her.

Police investigations indicate that the killings took place on May 19, 2024, at Alberta’s residence in Tuba Net-Link Estates, Kasoa. Officers who arrived at the scene found Alberta and two of her children — aged 18 and 10 — dead in a pool of blood. A third child, aged eight, survived but suffered deep cuts to the head and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Following months of tracking, police arrested Amoah at Suhum in the Eastern Region on September 17, 2025. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the killings but claimed he was unaware of what drove his actions.
