The Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the Kennedy Agyapong for President Campaign, Lawyer William Kusi, has tipped Kennedy Agyapong as the strongest contender to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in the 2028 general elections.
Addressing party delegates at a meeting in Yamfo in the Ahafo Region, Kusi appealed to them to support Agyapong during the NPP’s presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.
In an interview with Adom News, Kusi argued that out of the five aspirants vying for the flagbearer position, Kennedy Agyapong stands out as the candidate whose policies are most likely to appeal to Ghanaians across political lines, due to their focus on improving livelihoods.
He said Agyapong has well-defined plans to address unemployment, especially among the youth, by creating sustainable jobs and leveraging Ghana’s natural resources for employment creation.
Kusi further highlighted that Agyapong has already demonstrated his commitment to job creation, noting that he has personally provided employment for over 3,000 people and continues to expand opportunities.
He also warned that selecting Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s flagbearer could lead to another electoral defeat for the NPP in 2028, claiming that Bawumia lacks a convincing message capable of securing renewed support from the electorate.
Kusi concluded by urging delegates to make a strategic choice, insisting that Kennedy Agyapong is best positioned to unify the party and lead it back into government.
