Kwaku Asante-Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim South and a known supporter of Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party flagbearer race, has come under intense criticism after delivering a provocative interview attacking former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s standing in the party.

New developments indicate that the media appearance was not spontaneous but was part of a planned promotional effort linked directly to Kennedy Agyapong’s political team.

Before the interview aired on Adom FM on October 29, senior figures aligned with the Kennedy Campaign circulated promotional material online, alerting supporters to expect highly charged statements. These promotional posts included campaign spokesperson Kwesi Kwarteng actively advertising the upcoming interview and hinting at what would be discussed.

Once the interview began, campaign-affiliated accounts broadcast the live session widely on social media platforms. After it concluded, the same Kennedy Agyapong representatives led the spread of selected clips, focusing on the most controversial parts of the MP’s remarks.

This coordinated rollout has fueled growing concerns within the NPP that the Kennedy Campaign may be orchestrating deliberate attacks on Bawumia’s loyalty and identity within the party. The chain of online promotions and rebroadcasts is being viewed as clear evidence that the interview formed part of a broader agenda rather than a personal outburst from the MP.
