EN Analytics has released its 2025 Top 100 Senior High School Rankings for the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), reinforcing the list’s status as Ghana’s most credible and authoritative benchmark for assessing academic excellence at the secondary school level.
The 2025 rankings are based on comprehensive data from 260 Senior High Schools across all 16 regions of Ghana.
Over the years, the EN Analytics rankings have earned widespread trust among students, parents, teachers, school administrators and educational institutions, and are regarded as the gold standard reference for students seeking admission into senior high schools.
Methodology and Assessment Criteria
A school’s position on the rankings is determined using four key parameters:
The final stage reached at the national level of the current NSMQ competition year;
The school’s placement in its final national contest;
The GES category assigned to the school; and
The school’s historical performance in the NSMQ from 2013 to 2024.
According to EN Analytics, this multi-layered approach ensures fairness, consistency and a long-term view of performance rather than reliance on a single year’s outcome.
NSMQ as a Measure of Academic Excellence
The NSMQ remains one of Ghana’s most respected academic platforms, testing not only students’ knowledge in mathematics and science, but also their critical thinking, teamwork, innovation and ability to solve complex problems under pressure.
As such, the competition provides a strong basis for comparing schools nationwide.
