Kofi Adams Refuses to Reveal Black Stars Budget—Says Ghanaians Must Wait!

Published:

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has pushed back against growing public pressure to disclose how much has been budgeted for the Black Stars’ upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar.

Speaking on Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV, the minister made it clear that the time isn’t right to release the figures.

According to him, the team is still engaged in active preparations and the entire financial planning process has not been finalized.

“You will know it when the time comes,” Adams stated.

“The national team still has assignments ahead, including matches in September. Once everything is completed, the budget will be made public.”

He emphasized that the figures currently being worked on are still drafts and sharing them prematurely could lead to misunderstandings or misinterpretation.

“It would be unfair to release a draft version,” he added. “This isn’t about hiding anything.”

Kofi Adams also assured the public that there would be no delay when it comes to submitting the official budget for the September games.

He stressed that the Ghana Football Association will not be allowed to slack on financial planning.

While Ghanaians continue to demand transparency and accountability in the sports sector, the minister believes revealing partial figures too early would only stir unnecessary speculation.

For now, the nation will have to wait.
