Ghana Water Limited (GWL) in the Volta Region will shut down its Kpeve Headworks on Thursday, February 5, for a scheduled 12-hour maintenance exercise expected to affect several communities.
According to the Regional Chief Manager, Emmanuel A. Johnson, the shutdown is necessary to allow engineers to undertake essential maintenance works aimed at improving the efficiency of the Kpeve Headworks.
He explained that the temporary interruption would affect water supply to Ho township, Kpeve, Peki, and several surrounding communities.
Mr Johnson assured consumers that production would resume as soon as the maintenance works were completed to restore normal water flow across the affected areas.
He urged residents to make adequate preparations by storing enough water ahead of the scheduled shutdown.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the public for their patience and understanding,” he noted.
Mr Johnson reiterated that management is committed to providing reliable water services and emphasised that periodic maintenance remains crucial for sustaining quality operations.
