Police in Kumasi have confirmed the death of a 20-year-old man following a stabbing incident at Asante New Town on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The victim, identified as Kwadwo Bright, was involved in a confrontation at a snooker game centre where he and another individual reportedly argued over a plastic chair. Although the initial dispute was defused by bystanders, tensions escalated shortly afterward.
According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect later returned and attacked Bright, stabbing him in the neck. The victim was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect, identified only as a close acquaintance of the deceased, fled the scene and remains at large. Police have launched a manhunt and are appealing to the public for information to assist in the investigation.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, with calls for increased security and conflict resolution measures in youth gathering spaces across the Kumasi Metropolis.
