David Kwodow Prah Afful, widely known on social media as Kwame Nkrumah II, has been sentenced to seven months in prison for threatening Ghana’s President, Members of Parliament, and other government officials.

Afful appeared before the Accra Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to charges of threatening death and offensive conduct likely to breach the peace. During the hearing, he asked government officials for forgiveness for his actions.

The Ghana Police Service arrested Afful near Kasoa Market on September 13 after he posted a live-streamed TikTok video in which he threatened to kill officials, journalists, and civil servants, and encouraged acts of violence, including setting marketplaces on fire.

Police emphasized that while freedom of speech is respected, threats and statements that incite violence or public disorder are unacceptable.
