Kwesi Pratt Jnr., a seasoned Ghanaian journalist, has raised red flags about rising tensions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following troubling revelations linked to the party’s ongoing “Thank You Tour.”
Taking to his X account on April 29, 2025, Pratt shared concerns centered on Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko, a former presidential hopeful of the NPP.
Agyarko, he noted, is troubled by the current state of affairs within the party, particularly the direction the tour has taken.
Initially envisioned as a way to inspire hope, reconnect with grassroots members, and rebuild internal unity after the party’s presidential primaries, the tour is now drawing criticism for doing the exact opposite.
Agyarko reportedly views the effort as failing in its mission, saying it has spiraled into infighting, division, and finger-pointing.
He warned that what was meant to reinvigorate the party’s image is instead tearing at its internal cohesion, potentially causing lasting damage if nothing changes.
Kwesi Pratt echoed these worries, stressing that Agyarko has always had the party’s well-being at heart. However, his guidance often falls on deaf ears, with many within the NPP choosing to dismiss his input despite his long-standing commitment.
As the NPP looks ahead, Pratt’s commentary underscores the urgency of listening to wise voices within its ranks.
The situation, if not addressed swiftly, could deepen cracks within the party at a crucial time in its political journey.
