A female student of the University of the Niger, Iyienu, has been expelled following the circulation of an explicit video involving her and her former boyfriend. The footage, which spread rapidly across social media platforms, reportedly triggered disciplinary action from the school authorities who deemed her conduct a breach of institutional standards.
Investigations revealed that the video was originally used by her ex-partner as a tool of blackmail. He allegedly extorted large sums of money from her under threat of exposure, only to distribute the footage to his circle of friends, leading to its eventual leak.
As the scandal deepened, another disturbing video surfaced showing the moment she was violently escorted off campus. In the clip, the student was seen being manhandled and publicly humiliated by the institution’s security personnel as they removed her from the premises.
The incident has stirred intense debate online, raising concerns about student privacy, institutional discipline, and the growing issue of digital abuse in relationships. The university is yet to publicly address the backlash stemming from the forceful manner in which the young woman was treated.
