In an interview with ZionFelix, the filmmaker and artiste argued that “Alkayida,” the track he recorded with Guru, stands as the most significant song in the rapper’s catalogue. He pointed out that the record still sparks strong reactions whenever it is played, years after its release.
Lilwin described “Go Lilwin,” another collaboration between them, as a defining moment, explaining that the song stood out above the rest and continues to command attention each time it comes on. In his assessment, it surpasses Guru’s other hits in both energy and reception.
He went on to recount how their working relationship continued after the success of “Alkayida,” leading to another project titled “Tie Tie Break.” According to him, the initial version included his former manager Zack, but that contribution did not make it into the final release.
Lilwin said he never found out why Zack’s part was removed, noting that he did not have a close working relationship with Guru at the time. He explained that once recordings or performances were done, they each went their separate ways, with little communication afterward.
He also revealed that in those early days, he often performed alongside Guru without charging a fee, adding that the lack of a direct connection made it difficult for him to question decisions about their joint work, including what happened to the original version of “Tie Tie Break.”
