Dr. Charles Dwamena, National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that
the low voter turnout in the Ayawaso East by-election is a result of the people’s disappointment with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the betrayal by the John Mahama-led government.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Dwamena attributed the low turnout to the NDC’s failure to deliver on their campaign promises, leaving voters disillusioned.

“The NDC promised the people the world, but they’ve seen that it was all false promises, and they’re suffering under this government,” Dwamena said.

He commended the police service and the Electoral Commission for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere, citing their professionalism as a model for future elections.

Dr. Charles Dwamena expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election so far, stating that everything is going smoothly and peacefully.
