Ghanaian music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, popularly known as Fredyma, has shared what he describes as a spiritual encounter with the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba. According to him, the musician appeared to him in a dream, dressed entirely in white, and tasked him with defending his name from media attacks.
Speaking on Onua ShowTime, Fredyma recounted that in the dream, Lumba identified a specific media personality who had been spreading falsehoods about a supposed passport-related issue. The late singer, he said, urged him to confront the individual and stop the misinformation tarnishing his reputation.
The producer expressed disappointment over the increasing misinformation surrounding the musician’s passing, noting that online speculation has overshadowed genuine tributes and respect for his legacy.
Daddy Lumba died on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra. His funeral, initially planned for December 6, 2025, has now been rescheduled for December 13, following a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace.
A new funeral committee, chaired by the Dadiesoabahene, has been established to oversee the ceremony. Meanwhile, Lumba’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, has requested a postmortem examination to clarify the circumstances surrounding his death before the burial proceeds.
