The family of late musician Daddy Lumba has formally notified the legal firm providing services to Victor Kofi Owusu Boahene, known as Abusuapanin Tupac, about his removal as the family head.

In a letter to Baba Jamal and Associates, the Acting Family Head, Kwabena Brefo, said his predecessor was customarily removed on March 11, 2026.

He thus called for the withdrawal of the ongoing court SUIT NO.: GJ/0437/2026 entitled ABUSUA PANIN KOFI OWUSU VRS AKOSUA SERWAA FOSUH & 3 OTHERS.

“I have been instructed by the family to direct that you discontinue the ongoing case, as the said suit does not align with the intentions and objectives of the family. Accordingly, you are by this letter requested to discontinue the said case which you commenced for the family through its former head, in a representative capacity, by close of day 26th March, 2026.”

He further committed to settling charges incurred from rendering the services to the family so far.

“You may contact me through my lawyer, Mr Bright Obeng of Hayfron-Benjamin & Co., Ground Floor, Opoku Bandoh Plaza, Kumasi, via his phone number (+233) 500002202.

“Please find attached to this letter a copy of a letter from the Chief of Parkoso confirming my appointment as Acting Head of Family. “

It comes after the High Court granted an interlocutory injunction against the organisation, promotion, or hosting of the planned “Celebration of Life” for late musician Daddy Lumbaa.

A statement by the lawyers of Abusua Panin Tupac reported that the Court had prohibited any attempt to proceed with the celebration of life or any such event.

The legal team, therefore, cautioned venue providers and active participants not to defy the order, affirming that violation would be punishable by law.

“We shall not hesitate to initiate committal proceedings against any individual who seeks to undermine the sanctity of the Court for contempt.”

The ‘Celebration of Life’ was organised by a section of the family of the musician, including Akosua Serwaa Schindler (Fosuh), Ernestina Fosuh (Brempomaa) and one Wofa Yaw Poku.

The family delegated the planning and organising to Nana Yaw Akosa, also known as Papa Shee, a friend of Daddy Lumba.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Independence Square, Accra
