The LynneX Foundation, under its flagship Save the Children Campaign, launched in 2025, has begun implementing its 2026 projects with a major focus on restoring hope through education.
One of its key initiatives this year is the urgent renovation and expansion of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Preparatory and Junior High School at Mim in the Ahafo Region of Ghana.
The foundation is appealing to the general public, corporate institutions, philanthropists, and other stakeholders to support efforts to rehabilitate and upgrade the school’s deteriorating infrastructure.
About the school
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Preparatory and Junior High School is located at Mim in the Asunafo North Municipal District of the Ahafo Region, approximately 14 kilometers from Goaso, the regional capital.
Established in 2001, the private institution was founded through a generous donation to provide quality education to needy children within the locality.
The school currently runs from kindergarten to Junior High School level and has a total student population of 240. Most of the children enrolled come from extremely underprivileged backgrounds, with many being orphans or children without adequate parental care.
The founder and head teacher, Mr Emmanuel Kweku Duku, established the school with a mission to train children living below the poverty line to attain high academic standards, continue climbing the educational ladder, and secure meaningful employment in the future.
His vision is to develop each child physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially to enable them to fit well into Ghanaian society and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s socio-economic development.
Notably, the school does not charge tuition fees. In addition to free education, it provides daily meals for the children, relying largely on the limited support of the family and friends of the founder.
Current challenges
Despite its noble mission, the school faces severe challenges due to inadequate financial resources.
The entire school is managed by only four permanent teachers and three part-time teachers, a total of seven teachers for 240 students. This shortage has led to the combining of classes, which is negatively affecting academic performance. Teachers are also poorly paid due to limited funds.
Infrastructure remains a major concern. The school buildings are in a deplorable state, with visible cracks in the walls, damaged classroom floors, and structures without proper doors and windows.
The school lacks a security fence, electricity, a storeroom, adequate tables and chairs, an ICT laboratory, a library, and proper toilet facilities, all essential components of a conducive learning environment.
LynneX Foundation Steps In
In response to these challenges, Mr. Duku reached out to the LynneX Foundation for support.
“Because of the good work LynneX is doing through its Foundation to help children across Ghana, I want them to help bring hope to my school,” Mr. Duku stated.
On February 4, 2026, the LynneX Foundation team, led by its visionary leader, Ms Cynthia Raymond, travelled from Accra to Mim to meet the school authorities and assess the situation firsthand.
The Foundation team received a warm and vibrant welcome from the school, featuring cultural dance performances and choreographed displays by the students. During the visit, LynneX Foundation donated learning materials, including pencils, exercise books, pens, erasers, and
rulers, to the kindergarten, nursery, and primary school students.
In appreciation, the school presented Ms. Cynthia Raymond with a traditional cloth, expressing gratitude for her commitment to supporting the school’s transformation.
After inspecting the facilities, Ms. Raymond pledged the Foundation’s commitment to helping restore dignity, hope, and improved learning conditions for the children.
A Call to action
LynneX Foundation is therefore calling on the general public, corporate bodies, NGOs, and well-meaning individuals to join this urgent cause. Contributions, whether financial, material, or technical, will go a long way in renovating the school and providing the necessary infrastructure
to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can help transform the lives of these children and secure a brighter future for them.
As the saying goes, “Education is the key to success.” Through collective support, hope can be restored at Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Preparatory and Junior High School.
