Kofi Akpaloo, the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), is expressing strong confidence that he will be the country’s next president following the December 7 general elections.
He believes that divine intervention has assured him of victory, rendering the efforts of the other key candidates—Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)—insignificant.
Akpaloo’s conviction comes from what he describes as a spiritual revelation that the presidency is destined for him.
Reflecting on his life, Akpaloo shared a story of overcoming personal adversity, which he believes has prepared him for leadership.
His journey began with significant financial struggles. At one point, he was forced to leave school in his third year of senior high due to a lack of resources.
Faced with hardship, he worked as a barber in the bustling Kantamanto market in Accra to support himself and his family.
Despite these challenges, Akpaloo remained determined to pursue a better life.
He eventually returned to education and studied chartered accounting, equipping himself with skills that would later shape his vision for Ghana’s economic future.
He also travelled abroad, where he gained exposure to the industrial and technological advancements of Western nations.
These experiences deepened his understanding of why many African nations, including Ghana, have lagged behind in development.
Akpaloo’s international exposure has been key to his political platform. Observing how other countries had succeeded through digitization and industrialization, he became convinced that similar strategies could be applied to transform Ghana’s economy.
He believes that adopting these methods is crucial for overcoming poverty and achieving national prosperity. His ambition is to implement policies that will drive economic growth and improve living standards across the country.
With this blend of personal resilience, international insight, and a belief in divine guidance, Akpaloo is preparing for the upcoming elections, firmly convinced that his leadership will bring about the progress and change that many Ghanaians seek.
As the election date draws closer, he remains focused on his goal of transforming Ghana’s future and lifting the nation out of poverty.
“Both Bawumia and Mahama are wasting their time. God has revealed to me that I will win the 2024 elections, and it’s my time to lead this nation.”
“I have seen what makes other nations succeed, and I want to bring that same level of progress here. My mission is to lift every Ghanaian out of poverty.”
