Mahama Visits Survivors of Burkina Faso Terrorist Attacks at 37 Military Hospital

President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, visited two victims of the Burkina Faso terrorist attack currently on admission at the 37 Military hospital in Accra.

The survivors, were among Ghanaian tomato traders on board a truck, which was ambushed by armed bandits.

The bandits lined up men on board and massacred them before setting the vehicle ablaze.

President Mahama, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah commiserated with them and assured them their bills will be absorbed by the state.

The President, who had earlier been in Takoradi on official duty, rushed to the hospital as soon as his flight landed to gather first-hand information from the victims about the tragic incident.

Eight Ghanaians killed in the incident have since been buried while the survivors have been successfully transported home by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

All are undergoing counselling with the necessary support needed while others who got injured are undergoing treatment.
