A recent poll conducted by Ghanaian lawyer and writer, Chris-Vincent Agyapong, has ignited a conversation on dating preferences, revealing that 79% of Ghanaian men favor women under 30 years old for relationships, while only 21% lean towards women over 30.
The poll, which was carried out via Agyapong’s Facebook page, gathered responses from 3,300 participants.
The question asked was simple: “As a man, who would you prefer to settle down with—someone under 30 or over 30?”
After a 24-hour voting period, Agyapong shared the findings with his large following of over 100,000 on social media, boldly declaring that the market has spoken.
Agyapong, known for his strong opinions on relationships, used the results to emphasize his belief that high-value men tend to prefer younger women.
He also took aim at women over 30 who he claimed attempted to manipulate the results, despite the poll clearly specifying that only men should vote.
This sparked an uproar, especially among women, who criticized his stance, though Agyapong remained steadfast in defending his position.
He also addressed criticisms regarding the sample size, insisting that with over 3,300 responses, the poll was statistically significant.
His defense highlighted that traditional polls often sample fewer individuals but still extrapolate data to make broader conclusions.
This provocative poll and Agyapong’s ongoing commentary on dating preferences have intensified the debate about age, relationships, and societal expectations, particularly regarding women over 30.
Despite the backlash, his views continue to stir public discourse.
