As the Asante Kingdom prepares to bid farewell to Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Manhyia Palace has announced a strict ban on all secret recording devices during the four-day burial rites scheduled from September 15 to 18.

The directive applies to the general public who will be allowed to file past the Queen Mother’s remains. Items such as phones, cameras, microphones, and disguised recording tools are strictly prohibited within the Palace grounds.

Media personnel have also been barred from entering the Queen Mother’s Palace with any video or audio equipment. The Palace has emphasized the need for discretion and cultural respect, warning that inappropriate footage will not be tolerated.

In addition, drone flights around the Palace have been banned. Only officially accredited drones bearing Palace-issued stickers will be permitted to operate near the sitting grounds. Any unauthorized drone spotted in the area will be shot down.

The measures are part of a broader effort to preserve the sanctity of the rites and maintain order during one of the most significant traditional events in recent Asante history.
