The Manhyia Palace in Kumasi has issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing that no individual or group is permitted to collect money on behalf of the funeral of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

Representing the Palace, Otumfuo Ankobeahene Baffour Kwame Kusi II, a member of the funeral planning committee, clarified that any attempts to solicit funds without official approval are considered fraudulent and should be reported to the police for legal action.

He advised that anyone interested in contributing to the funeral should coordinate directly with the Manhyia Palace to ensure proper management of donations. The Palace highlighted that this procedure is designed to guarantee transparency and accountability in all financial contributions.

The funeral ceremonies are set to take place from Monday, September 15, through Thursday, September 18, 2025. The events are expected to attract royals, dignitaries, and citizens from across Ghana and beyond.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away at the age of 98, served as Asantehemaa from 2017. She was the biological sister of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and succeeded their mother, the late Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem II.
