The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has officially launched the 2026 edition of the Soloku Festival, describing it as a major step towards strengthening unity, empowering young people and promoting local development.

Speaking at the launch, the MP highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting that the enthusiasm and energy displayed by participants reflected a shared commitment to community growth.

He stressed that the festival is rooted in the belief that unity remains the foundation for progress within Manhyia South.

According to him, the Soloku Festival is more than just a cultural event, explaining that it is designed to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their talents while also reviving cultural identity and fostering a stronger sense of belonging.

“This festival is about creating opportunities for our young people, traders, creatives and every hardworking individual in our constituency. It is non-partisan and focused on development,” he stated.

Mr Awuah also pointed to the economic potential of the festival, indicating that similar events in other communities have successfully boosted local businesses and attracted visitors.

He expressed confidence that the Soloku Festival would serve as a catalyst for economic growth and community pride in Manhyia South.

He further commended traditional leaders, the media, partners and sponsors for their support, while appealing to Corporate Ghana to come on board.

The MP encouraged broader collaboration to maximise the festival’s impact, announcing that the main celebration will take place on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026, under the theme of unity and shared identity.
