The Ministry of Health Ghana has announced the opening of a recruitment portal for nurses and midwives, specifically targeting postings in the Upper East Region and Upper West Region.
The recruitment exercise begins on May 4 and will run through May 5, with applications restricted to candidates who are willing to accept placements in the two regions.
A total of 710 slots have been made available under the exercise. Out of this number, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has been allocated 498 positions, the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) has 206 slots, while the Ahmadiyya Muslim Health Service Ghana (AMHSG) has been given 6 positions.
According to the Ministry, the recruitment process will be conducted through an online portal, and applicants are strongly advised to apply only if they are prepared to work in the designated regions.
The Ministry also cautioned the public against engaging with individuals who claim they can facilitate recruitment. It urged applicants to report such cases by calling 0244435350.
This targeted recruitment forms part of efforts to address staffing gaps in underserved regions and improve healthcare delivery in northern Ghana.
