The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben North in the Eastern Region, Nana Osei-Adjei, has donated medical equipment and other essential products to the maternity block of the Akwadum Health Centre to improve healthcare services in the area.

The items, which cost GH₵90,000, are made up of a hydraulic theatre bed, three-Intensive Care Unit (ICU) crank beds, a delivery set, baby cots, detergents and baby diapers to enhance quality health delivery, which was in fulfilment of his commitment to the good healthcare of the people.

Request made

The donation was in response to a request made to the MP by the management of the Akwadum Health Centre for the equipment and other essential products.

Presenting the items at the premises of the facility at Akwadum last Wednesday, Nana Osei-Adjei said he was really concerned about the health status of his people in the constituency.

Nana Osei-Adjei urged the management of the facility to put the facility to good use so that it would serve the purpose for which it was donated.

The Physician Assistant of the facility,  Salima Salam, who received the items on behalf of the management of the facility, said the equipment had come at the right time as the facility was in dire need of them.

She expressed the hope that the equipment would go a long way to improve healthcare delivery at the facility.

The Queenmother of Akwadum, who is also the Mponuahemaa of New Juaben, Nana Anima Adowaa, thanked the MP for providing the medical equipment and other essential products to the health centre.
