The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, has called for an immediate investigation and arrest of the foreign national involved in a sex scandal with Ghanaian women.
The lawmaker wants the Cyber Security Authority of Ghana, Ghana Police Service and the National Bureau of Investigation to take up the issue following the circulation of how he lures them into his hotel room in Accra.
The man, identified as a Russian, appears to secretly film his unsuspecting prey right from their first encounter.
In a statement, the lawmaker condemned it as ‘cyber harassment and sexual exploitation.’
“If the allegations are true, this is not entertainment. It is exploitation. It is abuse. It is cybercrime… The law must pursue the suspect. It must be treated with the seriousness it deserves.”
He further urged Ghanaian bloggers and content creators to exercise restraint and responsibility in circulating the videos of the victims.
“Stop circulating the videos and images of the young women involved. They are victims and deserve dignity and protection, not further humiliation… The media must protect the victims.”
Meanwhile, the development has generated various social media media reactions among Ghanaians.
