Ghanaian artist Mr Drew has indicated that he expected his song, ‘Case’ to win ‘Best Collaboration of the Year’ category at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
During an interview with 3Music TV monitored by News & Vibes, he expressed his disappointment with the results and insisted his song was better than any other song in that category.
Mr. Drew explained that the ‘Collaboration of the Year’ award should focus on recognizing songs that have had a significant impact on the music scene in Ghana, especially those that feature lesser-known artists and have transformed their careers.
“I think that featuring an unknown artist yet achieving significant success to the point of changing the lives of the artists involved is what the collaboration of the year should represent.”
He called for transparency from the TGMA organizers and mentioned that he was seeking an explanation for the decision-making process that resulted in his song not winning the award.
