My body is not a sin – Serwaa Telemo


Actress Serwaa Telemo recently spoke out against the societal stigma surrounding her body, particularly her voluptuous figure, emphasizing that it should not be perceived as a “sin”.

During an interview with Zionfelix, Serwaa addressed the misconceptions surrounding her physique, expressing frustration over the judgment she faces. She questioned why her body, especially her prominent buttocks, is often viewed negatively by society.

“I don’t understand why people see my body as a sin. Right now, I could use what I’m wearing to dance and praise God.”

Serwaa challenged the double standard regarding body movement, highlighting the acceptance of similar actions in religious settings.

She questioned why dancing and shaking one’s buttocks in church is not condemned, yet she faces criticism for her natural physique.

“In church, when women dance and move their buttocks, is that considered wrong? I don’t see why people should judge me; judgment is unfair.”

Serwaa also affirmed that her body shape is natural.

Furthermore, Serwaa criticized the tendency of Ghanaians to criticize their own, while accepting similar behavior from foreigners without question. She urged for a better understanding of the entertainment industry and the diverse expressions within it.

“Ghanaians will complain if a Ghanaian does something but will shut up if it is a foreigner because it will be seen as normal and that’s bad, we should understand the entertainment  industry”
