Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has spoken out about a very personal betrayal, telling how her ex-partner secretly married someone else while they were still together.
The ‘Slay Queen’ sensation revealed the agonizing news of learning about her ex-boyfriend’s covert marriage in an interview with Hitz FM on June 6, 2024 monitored by News & Vibes. It was a startling development that left her feeling heartbroken and bewildered.
Sista Afia recalled the turbulent time in 2017 and how she didn’t know about her boyfriend’s dishonest behavior until much later, when she found out he had gotten married to someone else behind her back.
“He went to marry another girl while I was there. He didn’t tell me. I didn’t even know that he was dating someone else.”
The pain ran so deep that Sista Afia admitted to nearly channeling her wrath into an entire album, intending to express her profound hurt and resentment.
“I almost recorded a diss album for him. It hurt me badly. I did not do anything wrong. All I did was love a man and be there for him.”
