Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has revealed that one of the major reasons his marriage to his Asaba ex-wife failed was her jealousy over his acting career.

In a recent interview on Nollywood Hardcore, The Legend’s Untold Story, the actor disclosed that his ex-wife constantly pressured him to leave the movie industry because she was uncomfortable with the attention he received from female colleagues and fans.

“My ex-wife is a Nigerian woman from Asaba. I was in love with her. We were cool together, but she was always demanding money. And she also asked me to stop acting because she was jealous of other women being around me. I told her I couldn’t stop acting,” Anuku shared.

Anuku, who has remained single for over a decade since the divorce, revealed that the experience left him emotionally scarred and hesitant to get married again, especially to a Nigerian woman.

“I went through a lot of psychological trauma. I don’t want to get married to any Nigerian woman again,” he stated.

The actor further mentioned that he felt more compatible with Caucasian women, whom he dated while living abroad, suggesting that if he were to consider marriage again, it might not be with a Nigerian partner.
