Akuapem Poloo is redefining her public image, pointing to a deliberate shift in her lifestyle as the reason her reputation and opportunities have taken a different turn.
Speaking during an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the actress and socialite revisited her decision to move away from twerking on social media, describing it as a moment that reshaped how she is seen and the kind of doors now opening for her.
According to her, the change is evident in the way people relate to her today, with a level of respect she says was largely absent in her earlier years in the spotlight.
“I get a lot more respect from people now than when I used to twerk. Even influential people want to get close to me at events,” she said.
She indicated that her experience at events has also shifted, as invitations have increased while she has become more selective about where she shows up.
“They invite me to programs, and I attend the ones I can. I’ve stopped twerking for over four years now. When I used to twerk, things were good for me.”
Poloo also hinted at a more reserved approach to her business affairs. Though deals continue to come her way, she prefers to keep many of them away from public attention.
“I also get a lot of corporate deals, but I’ve decided not to publicize them,” she shared.
She explained that while ambassadorial roles once dominated her portfolio, her interests now lean toward corporate engagements, which she says suit her better.
“I used to sign ambassadorial deals and many others, but now I only get corporate deals, and I like it,” Akuapem Poloo further stated.
