Amerado Burner, a Ghanaian rapper and singer, has released a diss track criticizing Charterhouse over what he describes as being sidelined during the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2026 in the Best Rap Performance of the Year category. The event was held on May 9, 2026, at the Grand Arena.
Artistes nominated for the Best Rap Performance of the Year category included Strongman, Lyrical Joe, Sarkodie, Medikal, Ko-Jo Cue, and Joe Kay. Strongman emerged as the winner in the category with his song Mensei Da. Following the announcement, Amerado released a new rap track expressing his disappointment with the organizers for allegedly snubbing him from the nominees list.
According to Amerado, the disregard for his talent has been evident over the years. He referenced the beginning of his career, including collaborations with Sarkodie and Lasmid during key moments in his rise to fame. However, he claimed that Ghanaians failed to appreciate his efforts and instead made him feel that he could only have a successful music career if he traveled outside Ghana.
He further explained that despite years of criticism, insults, and discouragement from Ghanaians, he has remained focused on himself and his career. However, he believes those consistent efforts have still not been recognized. He also expressed disappointment over Medikal losing the Artiste of the Year award.
In the track, Amerado made it clear that he is determined to win the Best Rap Performance award in 2027 and bounce back stronger than ever. “It is all good,” he said in the rap. Netizens have also joined him in anticipation of next year’s awards.
