Mzbel, an experienced vocalist and businesswoman, felt let down and saddened when her colleagues in the industry did not show up for her mother’s funeral.
On August 6, she informed her Instagram followers about her mother’s death, posting a heartfelt message alongside a photo of her late mom with the words “Rest in Power mummy”.
Mzbel was going through a tough period, having lost her father only two years ago.
In spite of her sorrow, Mzbel was resolute in providing her mother with a proper send-off.
She arranged the funeral for October 6, 2024, anticipating her peers in the industry would offer their support.
Nevertheless, during the funeral day, only a few close friends attended to show their respects.
The low attendance at the event shook Mzbel, making her feel deserted by industry acquaintances she thought were friends.
She had anticipated that more of them would come and express their sympathies, but their lack of presence was strongly noticed.
However, Mzbel stayed resilient and dedicated to honoring her mother’s life, in the company of the small number of individuals who showed genuine care.
